Ellison Park in Layton gives families a playground experience built around climbing, nature-inspired play, and active exploration. Big T Recreation and Playworld® worked with Layton City to create a playground featuring Playworld's exclusive Branch Out® system.
Branch Out is designed to mimic the feel of climbing a tree, giving children many different ways to move up, across, and through the structure. The result is a playground that feels more organic and challenging than a traditional post-and-platform layout.
The Ellison Park playground gives Layton families a play structure that is both challenging and approachable. Children can choose different climbing paths, test their confidence, and engage with the playground in a more exploratory way — building coordination and problem-solving along the way.
Ellison Park needed a playground that could provide active climbing value and a more distinctive play experience for local families. This project was a strong fit because it helped the city:
Branch Out gives the playground its signature climbing identity. Inspired by the experience of climbing a tree, it offers varied routes and challenges that help children move creatively through the structure rather than following one prescribed path.
The playground supports climbing that feels more organic and exploratory than a standard structure. Children can build coordination and confidence while choosing different paths through the play environment.
Branch Out-style play encourages whole-body movement, balance, and problem-solving. This makes the playground a strong fit for children who need more physical challenge and variety than a basic play structure provides.
Ellison Park gives Layton families a playground centered on climbing, challenge, and outdoor imagination. With Playworld Branch Out, the project supports active movement and nature-inspired exploration in a durable community park setting.
