Mountview Park is one of Cottonwood Heights' most visible community parks, located along the Fort Union corridor and designed to serve families, schools, neighbors, and regional visitors. The park includes multiple recreation amenities, with two playground areas helping make it especially popular with families.
Big T Recreation worked with Cottonwood Heights and Playworld® on the Mountview Park playground experience, supporting the city's broader investment in a major public gathering space. The playground includes both a larger play area with climbing, sliding, bridge play, spinning, and active movement, and a smaller play area designed for younger children.
The variety helps make Mountview Park useful for families with children of different ages. Kids can climb, cross, spin, slide, and explore, while caregivers benefit from a park setting designed for longer community use.
Mountview Park needed playground features that could support heavy family use within a major community park. This project was a strong fit because it helped the city:
Mountview Park includes both a larger playground and a smaller play area for younger children. This helps families with different age groups use the park more comfortably during the same visit.
Climbers and bridge elements give children ways to build confidence, balance, and coordination. These features help create a more active playground experience and add visual interest to the larger play structure.
Slides and spinning toys add familiar movement and repeat play value. These features make the playground approachable while still keeping children active and engaged throughout their visit.
The smaller play area gives younger children a place to climb, slide, and explore at a more manageable scale. This helps the playground serve families with toddlers as well as older children, making it a true multi-age destination.
Mountview Park gives Cottonwood Heights families a well-used community destination with play, movement, gathering, and recreation in one setting. The playground areas help make the park especially valuable for families and support the city's investment in high-quality public spaces along the Fort Union corridor.
